Red Globe grapes arrive in Colombia thanks to producers from Moquegua

AVIMO, the Association of Winemakers of Moquegua, managed to finalize its first shipment of 60 tons by only small producers. The fruits sent belonged to the Red Globe grapes and left for Colombia thanks to the work done by Sierra and Selva Exportadora in collaboration with Midagri (Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation).

In addition to the achievement obtained, it is expected that the Colombian market will place a new order for 80 tons of Red Globe grapes within a month thanks to the good reception of the public. The advantage for Peru is that the grape production is continuous throughout the year, standing out more during the period between the months of May and December where the harvests of the southern regions begin.

The Association has coverage in the areas of Charsagua, Santa Rosa, Omo, Samegua, Huaracane, El Provenir, Rinconada and in the San Antonio de Moquegua irrigation, with which they have managed to gather 48 hectares in total.

Thanks to the support of Sierra y Selva exportadora, the association's small producers have been able to establish their commercial ties with foreign companies that verified the quality and safety of the fresh grapes produced by AVIMO and those that arrived, in turn, in a packing first quality.

It was the La Joya Associative Corporation, from Arequipa, which lent its packing establishments to achieve the presentation of the fresh grapes exported by AVIMO, thus ensuring international commercial achievement and success.
