Peruvian agro-exports remain firm until September

It is true that growth has not been abysmal, but in the first 9 months of 2020, traditional and non-traditional agricultural exports together registered a growth of 1.4% compared to the same period in 2019 according to ComexPerú (Foreign Trade Society of the Peru), amounting to 4,846 million dollars.

In the case of traditional shipments, from January to September, they comprised 415 million dollars, 11.1% less than those registered in 2019 for those dates, undoubtedly a considerable decrease. But on the other hand, non-traditional shipments managed to increase their figure by 2.8%, obtaining 4,431 million dollars.

North America continues to be the import market to highlight with shipments reaching $ 1,815 million, closely followed by Europe with shipments of up to $ 1,801 million. In the third box is South America with 611 million dollars, in the fourth position, Asia with 443 million dollars followed by Central America with 141 million dollars, Oceania with 23 million dollars and Africa with 12 million dollars. Having presence of Peruvian fruits on all continents.

Regarding destinations, the United States continues to be the favorite of Peruvian agro-exports with 33%, the Netherlands follows with 16%, Spain with 7%, the United Kingdom with 4% as well as Ecuador and the other countries buy between all 36%.
