3 Reasons why mango shipments decreased

  1. The lack of rain played an important role because, as there was a drought on the north coast as a result of the La Niña phenomenon, there was a shortage of water in the reservoirs that producers use to irrigate their crops.
  2. Another factor against was the current pandemic product of COVID - 19, which affected the northern part of the country to a greater extent and, of course, also the agro-industries and farms that had to implement greater and better security measures to maintain the health of your collaborators.
  3. The third factor was the agricultural strike at the end of last year, which stopped shipments and harvests for a few days, causing great losses for producers. 50 million dollars were lost in Ica, 70 million dollars in La Libertad and with respect to mango, shipments fell 45% in the most critical days.
