Peruvian fruits are consolidated in Germany

At a firm pace, the Peruvian fruits are beginning to consolidate in Germany because of the 18 thousand 271 million dollars that the European country spent, from January to June, to import fresh fruits; 248 million dollars were allocated to the importation of Peruvian fruits, increasing their value by 10%.

Peru is still in position 17 of the countries that provide the most food to Germany with 1.30% of the participation, above India, Costa Rica, South Africa and Honduras. Despite not occupying the first positions, there is a consolidation since at the beginning of 2020 Peru occupied the 21st position with a similar participation and until mid-2021 it has already managed to climb 4 positions.

Main Peruvian fruits exported to Germany

Mango is the Peruvian fruit most exported to Germany with 21% of the share (2% more than the last period). The volume exported so far reached 25 thousand 777 tons (+ 2%) for a value of 53 million dollars (+ 24%). In addition, Peru is the largest mango exporter to Germany, followed by Brazil.

The second most exported Peruvian product to Germany was coffee beans with 18% of the participation, it managed to send a volume of 12,427 tons (-3%) for a value of 45 million dollars (+ 8%) becoming the eighth largest supplier of coffee beans in Germany.

In third position we have Peruvian avocados (15% of the participation), whose shipments to Germany reached 11,821 tons (-7%) for 37 million dollars (+ 3%) being the main one, like mangoes supplier of avocados to Germany, followed by Colombia and Spain.

Peruvian bananas reached the fourth position with 6% of the share and exports for a volume of 15,243 tons (-12%) and 15 million dollars (-2%). Finally, grapes are in the fifth position with 5% of the share, an exported volume of 4,779 tons (+ 10%) and a value of 12 million dollars (+ 7%) being the fifth most important supplier of grapes for Germany.
