Export tangerines sweep in 2 months of shipments

In these months of the year, it is the export tangerines that take the main role over the other Peruvian citrus fruits, standing out in the months from March to September.

During their first two months of shipments, Peruvian mandarins have shown favorable results for agro-exporters, sending 949 tons of citrus until April 18, which increases shipments by 20% compared to the same period of the 2019 campaign.

So far, Peruvian mandarins have reached 20 different markets, with the Netherlands standing out with 26% of the share, the United Kingdom with 23%, Russia with 16% and Canada with 11%.

In the case of the Netherlands, the country with the highest participation in these first two months of shipments, exports reached a volume of 4,950 tons, reporting a growth of 158% compared to the 2019 season. The main Dutch importers were Aartsen Breda BV which accounted for 11% of shipments, followed by United Fruits BV with 10%.

The second market with the highest participation, the United Kingdom, had shipments for a volume of 4,568 tons between the months of March and April, reporting a 58% growth in exports to that destination. The main importers were Pacific Produce Ltd and AMT Fresh Ltd, with 46% and 10% of the shares, respectively.

3,024 tons of Peruvian mandarins were sent to the largest country in the world, Russia, which consolidated an increase in exports to that market of 241% compared to last season. The main Russian importers were Ooo Voskhod Llc. and Aybarus Ltd. with 18% and 15% of the stake, respectively.

Canada, for its part, took 2,174 tons of mandarins, 30% more than the 2019 season. And its main buyers of Peruvian citrus were Star Produce Ltd. with 24% that covered 24% of shipments and The Oppenheimer Group Ltd. with 21%.
